CIVIL PROCESS

BUILDING CHECKS

Patrol deputies are responsible for serving all civil paperwork throughout Franklin County.

 

Paperwork can be mailed or dropped off in person Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm.

 

What we need for service:

  • The original paperwork & a copy for each person to be served

  • The completed Civil Process Request Form 

  • A retainer fee of:

    • $90 for 1 serve

    • $135 for 2 serves

    • $180+ for 3 or more serves

 

Payment can be made by money order or cashier’s bank check made payable to Franklin County Treasurer’s Office.

After three good faith attempts OR service has been made, we will return the original paperwork and proof of service to you.

 

What we cannot do:

  • We cannot accept cash, debit/credit cards or personal checks for payment.

  • We cannot provide legal advice or assist you with completing the documents.

  • We cannot serve paperwork to anyone outside of Franklin County. The address for service MUST be within Franklin County lines.

 

Our sole purpose is to serve the paperwork. By accepting your documents to be served, we are not expressing the opinion that they are properly completed or are legally sufficient for your purpose. We recommend you consult with an attorney if you have questions or require assistance.
